Capacity building of forest staff, guides, rest house care takers, boat men etc. in various aspects of ecotourism is an important function of the Board. Every year the Board organizes training programmes, workshops and exposure visits for the target groups. The board has already touched nearly 800 persons through various human resource development initiatives.

Eco Camps

The Board has been encouraging students and youth to get connected with nature through its Anubhuti programme. Under this programme, students from all the schools of the state are selected for nature camps through a competitive process in all forest divisions of the state. The selected students are taken to some good location in the district and are hosted in camps and are given a good exposure to nature.

Bird Watching Camp

Birds are a useful tool for environmental education and awareness on environmental issues. They easily transmit values on respect to nature and the fragility of ecosystems for moulding a sustainable future. Birds are one of the most important parts of nature. They are excellent ecological indicators.
Madhya Pradesh has wide variety of avian fauna. About 450 species of all types of Birds found here which includes Wetland Birds, Woodland or Forest Birds, Grassland Birds. Many birds species comes here for migration during winter, summer and monsoon while some species seen here as passage migrants.
Madhya Pradesh Ecotourism Development Board has launched various Birding Camp to promote this activity on various sites in Madhya Pradesh. Because we believe that there is no substitute for hands-on learning and exposure when it comes to inspiring people to become life-long stewards of the environment.
